SECOND ANNUAL ROPE FOR THE CHILDREN EVENT
IN SUPPORT OF CAMP TO BELONG!

On Saturday, July 25 ropers are invited to participate in the Second Annual Rope for the Children event at San Antonio Rose Palace located at 25,665 Boerne Stage Road. Over 1000 competitors are expected to participate including some of the top PRCA Team Ropers.

Activities begin at 9 a.m. with sign ups and the roping competition starts at 10 a.m. and runs through to the wee hours. Throughout the day, a children's “dummy roping” competition will take place for ages 3 to 12 with prizes of remote control trucks. Participation is complimentary. Farmers Insurance will also be on hand providing fingerprinting ID kits for families. Everyone is invited to visit the silent auction area and bid on items including a premier saddle from Flying J. Saddles, autographed guitar from George Strait and fabulous vacation options to name a few. The silent auction area will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Proceeds from this event benefit Camp To Belong, an organization which reunites brothers and sisters placed in separate foster homes and other out of home care for weeklong camp experiences while strengthening sibling relationships.

“My wife and I understand first-hand the importance of sibling preservation after we adopted a beautiful daughter and later learned she had a sister in the foster care system,” said Gary Baker, event founder. “We have dealt with years of state bureaucracy while trying to reunite these two beautiful girls and through our research into sibling rights and laws, we found Camp To Belong and decided that this wonderful organization needed our help.”

Admission to Rope for the Children is free to the public and concession stands will be available with food and drink. For those interested in competing, the cost is $150 per roper with prize money, saddles, buckles and rope bags up for grabs. Please call (210) 445-2460 or (830) 216-4331 for more information.
